Amoxicillin is an antibiotic in the class of drugs called penicillins. It fights bacteria in the body. Amoxicillin is used to treat many different types of infections, such as tonsillitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea and infections of the skin.
